Sophomore Michaela Landers made Texas softball history Friday night, recording her 93rd RBI of the season to set a new state record. She added an inside-the-park home run—her 23rd of the year—as Waxahachie rolled past Mesquite 10-1 in 11-6A play.
Mesquite's Natalie Barron scored first on a wild pitch, but the Lady Indians answered quickly. Nalee Nichols drove in two runs to flip the lead, and Waxahachie never looked back. The victory clinches the district title and sets up a promising playoff run for the Lady Indians.
