Forney vs Katy Softball | Avery Pitts Battles Back But Katy Pulls Away 7-2

June 3, 2026
Forney sophomore Avery Pitts bounced back after a tough start, but Katy's potent offense was too much in a 7-2 win over the Jackrabbits.

A two-run deficit and an early wobble on the mound didn't break Forney's spirit — it just couldn't break Katy's bats either.

Sophomore pitcher Avery Pitts got stung early, falling behind 2-0, but settled in by recording a strikeout to steady herself. The Jackrabbits' defense kept pace, with third baseman Bailey McGhee making a diving grab in the second inning to preserve the deficit.

Forney found life in the bottom of the third when Kaylah Price turned a caught-stealing rundown into an opportunity — the ball was knocked away at first, Price was ruled safe, and Emily Hawkins came around to score, cutting the Katy lead to 2-1.

The Jackrabbits continued to battle, with Kambree Wilson adding a diving catch to the highlight reel, but Katy's lineup kept applying pressure. The final score was 7-2, as Katy's offense proved too consistent to overcome.
