A third consecutive state championship remains within reach for one of the DFW area's most dominant programs. Melissa dismantled Midlothian 12-0 in regional semifinal action, advancing to the regional finals and staying on course for a historic three-peat.
The Lady Cardinals wasted no time establishing control, building a 5-0 advantage through three innings. Adrian Hutton set the tone with an opposite-field triple that showcased Melissa's offensive depth. The assault continued in the fourth inning when leadoff hitter Finley Williams launched a two-run home run down the left field line, extending the lead to 8-0.
Florida commit Kennedy Bradley provided the exclamation point with a home run to right field, capping the 12-0 shutout. The Lady Cardinals' combination of power hitting and dominant pitching has them positioned to bring home another state championship trophy.
