Grapevine Faith Edges Fort Worth Christian 10-9 in Softball Thriller
Josh Hamilton spent years delivering clutch hits at Rangers Ballpark, and on this day he had a front-row seat to watch his daughter Michaela do the same. The former Texas Ranger was in the stands as Grapevine Faith took on Fort Worth Christian in a game that lived up to every bit of the drama the scoreline suggests.
Faith jumped out to an early lead, but Fort Worth Christian answered quickly. Addison Tischer laid down a bunt that allowed Ava Chopra to beat the tag at home plate, pulling the Cardinals even. Faith responded through Ainslee Dignan, who smoked a ball to center field that the outfielder lost in the sun — a two-run drop that put Faith back in front. Fort Worth Christian countered again when Ella Andujar got a chopper past the third baseman to drive in Chopra and give the Cardinals the lead.
Faith, though, had one more answer. Ali Ciccone went the other way with a two-RBI single, scoring Addison Skelly and Kylee Sabo to put Faith ahead for good. The final: Grapevine Faith 10, Fort Worth Christian 9.
