Denton Guyer defeats Keller 4-1 in regional semifinal softball game 1

May 18, 2026
Finley Montgomery tallied 11 strikeouts as Denton Guyer topped Keller 4-1 in regional semifinal softball action.

A regional semifinal matchup between two powerhouse programs delivered exactly what playoff softball should: dominant pitching, timely hitting, and a 4-1 Denton Guyer victory over Keller in game one.

Notre Dame commit Finley Montgomery controlled the game from the circle, tallying 11 strikeouts and allowing just one run. That lone run came in the third inning when Keller's Landry Beaman delivered a two-out single to break through—the first run Montgomery had surrendered in her last eight games.

The Lady Wildcats answered immediately in the bottom of the third. Annaleeia Martinez drove a pitch to the wall in right-center field, allowing Cali Parham to motor around and score, extending Guyer's lead to 3-1.

Montgomery wasn't done making an impact. In the sixth inning, she crushed a pitch to the wall for a double that scored Chloe O'Brien, putting the finishing touches on the 4-1 victory and giving Guyer the upper hand in the series.
