Byron Nelson Hits 4 Home Runs in Regional Semifinal Win Over Flower Mound Marcus
A grand slam and three additional home runs powered Byron Nelson to a decisive 15-3 victory over Flower Mound Marcus in Game 2 of their Regional semifinal series, evening the matchup after dropping the opener.
Marcus struck first when Brianna Barr's sacrifice fly to left field allowed Emily Souders to score, giving the Marauders an early advantage. But the Bobcats seized control in the third inning with an offensive explosion.
With the bases loaded, Byron Nelson's Ella Dearing turned on an inside pitch and sent it over the fence for a grand slam that shifted momentum completely. The lefty's four-RBI blast opened the floodgates for the Bobcats.
Later in the same frame, Bryson Farco added to the damage with a two-run shot over the left field wall. Byron Nelson cleared the fence four times total in the contest, overwhelming Marcus with power hitting throughout the game.
The Bobcats will now advance to face Denton Guyer in the next round of the playoffs.
