May 6, 2026
Brewer outscored Colleyville Heritage 4-1 in the eighth inning to win Game 1 of their softball series 7-4 in extra innings at Trinity High School.

It took eight innings and a late offensive burst, but Brewer walked away from Trinity High School with a 7-4 victory over Colleyville Heritage in Game 1 of their softball series.

Colleyville wasted no time setting the tone. Ali Sisheros connected on a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the first inning, giving the Panthers a 2-0 lead before Brewer had recorded an out.

Brewer clawed back in the fourth when pitcher Cozy Tyson drove a shot off the bottom of the left-center wall, plating two runs to even the score at 2-2. The Bears added another run in the sixth, but Colleyville answered immediately — Sophia Longenecker's single up the middle tied the game at 3-3 and forced a seventh inning that neither team could break open.

In the top of the eighth, Lilly Meller singled to right to score Samantha Aguirre and give Brewer the lead for good. The Bears kept the line moving, tacking on three more runs in the inning to build a 7-3 advantage. Colleyville scored once in the bottom half, but the damage was done.

Brewer's four-run eighth proved to be the difference in a back-and-forth game that showcased competitive softball on both sides.
