Tomball Sweeps Rowlett to End Eagles Season in Playoff Series
The nation's top-ranked team showed exactly why they hold that distinction. Tomball completed a playoff series sweep of Rowlett with a dominant 10-1 victory in game two, advancing in the postseason while ending the Eagles' season.
The Cougars wasted no time establishing control. Keagan Fosdick launched a home run over the left field wall in the first inning as part of a six-run frame that set the tone for the afternoon.
Rowlett second baseman Hayden Parris provided defensive highlights despite the lopsided score. Parris made a sliding catch on a bloop hit that appeared destined for the outfield grass, then later knocked down a line drive and completed the throw to first for an out.
Texas A&M recruit C.J. Sampson added to Tomball's offensive output with a single up the middle that rolled to the wall, plating another run in the Cougars' 10-1 victory that completed the series sweep.
