Brock Falls Short in 4A-DII State Baseball Final Against Robinson, 3-1

June 11, 2026
Brock's 32-win season ended in a 3-1 loss to Robinson in the 4A Division 2 state baseball final after a near-miss homer in the sixth inning.

Thirty-two wins and a trip to the 4A Division 2 state championship game wasn't enough for Brock, as Robinson held on for a 3-1 victory to take the title.

Weston Pickard was sharp early, carrying a no-hitter through four innings while striking out five — though an unearned run had Robinson ahead 1-0. Brock answered in the top of the fourth when Pickard lined one down the foul line and Asher Strait came around to score, knotting the game at one.

The lead changed hands in the bottom of the fifth. Cade Coe singled up the middle for Robinson, plating two runs including Cash Cleere, and the Rockets pushed ahead 3-1.

Brock had a chance to pull even in the sixth. With a runner on, Colton Ripple drove a ball deep to left field that looked like it might clear the wall — but the outfielder hauled it in just before the warning track. Brock couldn't push another run across, and Robinson closed out the championship, 3-1.
