Boyd Wins 3A-DI State Baseball Title With 9-8 Thriller Over Corpus Christi London

June 11, 2026
Boyd wins its 2nd state baseball title with a 9-8 comeback over Corpus Christi London, powered by Keelan Clary's 5-RBI performance in the 3A-DI final.

State championships are rarely clean, and Boyd's second title was no exception. The Yellowjackets survived a relentless Corpus Christi London squad 9-8 in the 3A Division I state final, with the outcome in doubt until the final out.

London drew first blood, jumping out to a 3-0 lead on the strength of a two-run home run from USC commit Christian Olivares, who unloaded on a pitch and sent it to the upper deck. But Boyd answered in the bottom of the third when Keelan Clary lined one down the left-field line to score two runs and knot the game at 3.

The Yellowjackets broke it open in the fourth. With the bases loaded, Clary blooped one to the opposite field that fell for two more runs, capping a four-run inning that pushed Boyd ahead 7-3. London, however, refused to fold — the Greyhounds battled back to tie the game at 8 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

With a runner on third and the season on the line, Clary came up again. He flew out to center, but Colton Patton tagged and beat the throw home to score the go-ahead run. Boyd held on for the 9-8 win, with Clary finishing the day with five RBI to earn the Yellowjackets their second state title.
