Taylor Twins Lead Keller Central Past Katy Tompkins in OT Thriller

July 20, 2026
Isaiah and Jeremiah Taylor combined for three INTs and multiple TDs as Keller Central edged Katy Tompkins 26-20 in overtime in the Whataburger Game of the Week.

Three interceptions. Two touchdown catches. One overtime winner. The Taylor twins put on a complete two-way performance as Keller Central defeated Katy Tompkins 26-20 in overtime in the Whataburger Game of the Week, played in College Station.

It was the defense that set the tone early. Jeremiah Taylor came up with an interception on a deflection, and on the very next possession, his twin brother Isaiah stepped in front of a pass and returned it the other way. Despite the defensive dominance, the Chargers still trailed 7-0 at halftime.

Keller Central's offense found its footing in the second half. Isaiah Taylor, operating at quarterback, went deep down the middle to Brandon Jones, who hauled in the catch with strong concentration for the score. When Tompkins answered to retake the lead, Isaiah went back to the air — this time finding Jeremiah wide open in the back of the end zone to tie the game at 14.

The momentum kept shifting. Isaiah added a third interception on defense — his second pick of the game — and the Chargers capitalized again, with Isaiah connecting with Jones for another score to knot it at 20 and send the game to overtime.

In the extra period, the outcome came down to the twins one more time. Isaiah delivered a strike to Jeremiah in the back of the end zone, and Keller Central walked off with the 26-20 victory.
