Trinity Trojans Hold Off South Grand Prairie 24-17 in Key District Road Win

October 7, 2026
Trinity QB Mack Lineweaver and RB Prince Ngandu led the Trojans to a 24-17 road district win over South Grand Prairie, keeping Trinity unbeaten in district play.

Unbeaten district records were on the line when Trinity traveled to South Grand Prairie, and the Trojans made the most of the road environment — escaping with a 24-17 victory that keeps their district slate clean.

It was a defensive first half, but Trinity broke the scoreless tie just before the break when quarterback Mack Lineweaver found Carmello Gray on a fade to the corner for the go-ahead touchdown. The Trojans' passing game continued to be a factor in the second half, with Lineweaver connecting with Koen Fiefia on a contested grab to push the lead back to seven after South Grand Prairie had tied the game at 10 on a short-range score from Joshua Armendarez.

South Grand Prairie refused to fold. Ryan Goss hit Zackary Martinez, who fought his way into the end zone to knot the score again and keep the Warriors very much alive at 17-17.

That's when Prince Ngandu took over. The Trinity back burst through the line of scrimmage and turned on the jets for a 43-yard touchdown run — the kind of play that changes a game's complexion entirely. It capped a 226-yard rushing performance for Trinity and proved to be the decisive score in a 24-17 final.

The win gives Trinity a significant road district victory and sole possession of an unblemished district record heading deeper into the UIL playoff push.
