Argyle Blows Out Highland Park 70-37 in High-Scoring Shootout

A brand-new Argyle ISD stadium hosted one of the most explosive offensive performances of the season, as the Eagles dismantled Highland Park 70-37 in a game that was effectively over before halftime.

Argyle quarterback Hayes Hackney and Texas Tech commit Julian Caldwell were virtually unstoppable from the opening drive. Caldwell hauled in three touchdown receptions in the first half alone, capped by a jaw-dropping 96-yard scoring strike that pushed the Eagles' lead to 14-0. By the break, Argyle led 35-24 and never looked back.

Highland Park's Buck Randall, an SMU commit who recently surpassed Matthew Stafford as the program's all-time passing yards leader, kept the Scots competitive. Randall connected with Liam Thomas for a big gain and hit Caiden Reeves on a shovel pass touchdown that trimmed the deficit to 21-14, but the Scots were stuffed on a critical fourth-and-goal that swung momentum back to Argyle. Logan Rexroat added a rushing score for the Eagles as the offense kept rolling.

The final score of 70-37 reflects just how dominant Argyle was on both sides of the ball, even against a Highland Park program that has long been one of the most decorated in the Dallas area.
