Southlake Stix 2027 Rout Tomball Banditos 12-2 in Run-Rule Win

Eleven runs in a single inning will end a game in a hurry. That's exactly what the Southlake Stix 2027 Prospects delivered against the Tomball Banditos Elite 2027, turning a tied ballgame into a 12-2 run-rule victory in just five innings.

The Banditos drew first blood, but Burleson's Grant Hamilton answered with an RBI single to left in the second inning that scored Mansfield's Walker Pressley and knotted the game at one. From there, the Stix offense took over. Grapevine's Cash Kircher ripped a two-run double down the third base line, plating Hamilton and Kaufman's Brody Burks to put Southlake ahead 3-1. Matthew Benson of Bethesda Christian in Fort Worth kept the line moving with an RBI single that pushed the lead to 4-1.

Pressley added to his big day by driving in Arlington Heights' Diego Vargas to make it 8-1, and the inning wasn't finished. Burks grounded to short, but two errant throws on the play cleared the bases and capped an eleven-run frame. Mansfield's Jackie Blackmon set the tone early on the mound, striking out Caden Cook in the first inning to help the Stix control the game from the opening out.

The Stix drew their roster from programs across the DFW area — Mansfield, Grapevine, Burleson, Kaufman, Bethesda Christian, and Arlington Heights all had contributors — while the Banditos made the trip from Tomball in the Houston area. Southlake Stix closed it out 12-2 under the run rule.
