Cole Koeninger 16-Strikeout Shutout Ties Series for Keller vs Flower Mound

May 20, 2026
Cole Koeninger strikes out 16 in one-hit shutout as Keller evens series with 3-0 win over Flower Mound in Game 2 pitching duel.

A playoff series between two powerhouse programs delivered the kind of pitching matchup that defines postseason baseball. UT-bound Cooper Harris of Flower Mound faced off against Keller's Cole Koeninger, a former bobblehead winner, in Game 2 with the Jaguars holding a 1-0 series lead.

Through the early innings, both pitchers dominated. Harris mowed down Keller hitters through three innings, while Koeninger was equally effective, racking up nine strikeouts through the first four frames.

The game turned in the bottom of the fourth when Harris ran into trouble with the bases loaded and no outs. Jayden Moeller slapped a grounder to third, and the throw home forced out the lead runner, but Brock Burkett beat the relay to put Keller on the board. Two batters later, Maddox McCrary delivered the only solid hit Harris would allow all night, a single to right field that plated two more runs and gave the Indians a 3-0 advantage.

From there, Koeninger took over completely. His curveball froze Flower Mound batters in the box as he carried a no-hitter through six innings. Despite telling the show previously that he prefers hitting to pitching, Keller fans had no complaints watching him work both sides of the game. He finished with a one-hit shutout and 16 strikeouts as Keller evened the series with a 3-0 victory.
