And the Bobcats would capitalize…Tom Von Grote, all day in the pocket, hits Leo Almanza in the endzone for the touchdown…Byron Nelson up 20-3… And on the first play of the ensuing drive…Jacoven Julian reads the play…picks off the pass and takes it all the way for the 27 yard pick six…Bobcats with the 27-3 lead… Dragons looking to cut into the deficit…Knowles throws a jump ball to Jack Van Dorselear…and it’s a battle with the defensive back but after a short deliberation the refs rule it a touchdown…That makes it a 27-17 lead… Later 4th quarter…Bobcats up 34-17 now…Dragons in the redzone on 4th down…desperation time now…but Braedon Ulrich comes up with the sack… Byron Nelson would run the clock out from there…the fans rush the field…as the Bobcats pull off the upset…Winning the game 34-17 and the district title while handing Southlake its first district loss since 2017
