Grady Emerson, ranked as the nation's number one high school player by Baseball America, launched a deep triple to right-center field in the fifth inning as Fort Worth Christian defeated San Antonio Cornerstone 5-4. The elite prospect went 6-for-7 with three extra-base hits over two games Thursday night.

Fort Worth Christian, managed by former Texas Rangers star Rusty Greer, took an early lead when Hank Austin drove in Jake Parkerson in the second inning to make it 2-0. After Cornerstone tied the game at 4-4, Emerson's clutch triple proved to be the difference in the Cardinals' victory.
