Rockwall Forces Game 3 With 9-6 Win Over Waxahachie in Game 2

May 28, 2026
Rockwall storms back with a six-run second inning to beat Waxahachie 9-6 in Game 2, forcing a decisive Game 3 in the playoff series.

A six-run second inning erased Waxahachie's early lead and sent the playoff series to a Game 3.

Coming off a late-night Game 1 win, the Indians took the field at Forney with a chance to close things out. UT commit Jax Robinson gave them the early edge with a home run — the so-called "Jax Jack" — to put Waxahachie up 1-0 after the first inning.

But Rockwall answered in a big way. Brock Shouse got things started with an RBI hit up the middle to give the Jackets a 2-1 lead, and Arkansas commit Dylan Cheek followed with an opposite-field single that scored Jake Usrey. By the time the second inning was over, Rockwall had sent six runs across the plate and turned a one-run deficit into a commanding advantage.

The Jackets kept adding on in the fourth, when A.J. Newby drove one off the wall for an RBI double to push the lead to 9-1. Waxahachie made it interesting late, pulling within 9-6, but Rockwall held on to even the series and force a winner-take-all Game 3.
