It was nearly a full moon Friday night in Rockwall ... and crazy things happen under a full moon.
Mesquite Horn trailed Rockwall at halftime, but 10 straight points put them ahead. This pass from LEGEND BEY to KEVIN MAGERA gave the Jags a 17-14 lead.
That lead lasted barely a minute. The Yellow Jackets drove downfield and scored on a LANDON LOCKE pass to TRISTAN GOOCH. Rockwall back on top 21-17.
Now in the 4th - after a long run by LEVON MORTON - the Jags punch it in with TITUS MUSE, and now Horn leads 24-21.
2 1/2 minutes to play ... Rockwall's ASHTON EMORY rips off a 49-yard run to put the Jackets back in front. EMORY finished with 230 combined yards.
Not to be outdone, LEVON MORTON scored less than half a minute later, on a 38-yard run - part of his 257-yard night. Jags led 31-28.
Watch the Rockwall linemen on this play - facing 4th and 12 with under a minute left, they didn't move on the snap, but it's all to set up the screen to EMORY, who takes off down the sideline and *almost* scored but was brought down by his hair at the one-yard line.
LANDON LOCKE shoved it in from there, and Rockwall escapes with a 35-31 win.
