Marcus Walks Off Jesuit in Game 1 to Extend Win Streak to 12
Eleven straight wins heading into a series against a 30-win Dallas Jesuit program — and Marcus found a way to make it twelve.
The Marauders trailed heading into the bottom of the seventh before Easton Mitchell rolled one past short to score Brady Moore and tie the game at 2. Then Jameson Mayfield lifted a fly ball to left field that Jesuit's outfield, playing in to cut off the run, couldn't get to. Austin Allen trotted in from third, and Marcus had its walk-off.
Jesuit had taken the lead in the top of the seventh on Taylor Haddock's shot to left, with Griffin Civello crossing with the go-ahead run. Marcus had drawn first blood on a throwing error in the early innings that plated Ryan San Miguel, but the Rangers answered and briefly held the advantage before the Marauders' late-inning magic took over.
Marcus takes Game 1 of the series, 3-2.
