Game of the Week - Flower Mound vs. Marcus

This one featured 2 of the top quarterbacks in the area, garrett nussmeier leading marcus and taylen green the point man for the farmers...Marcus would get off to a good start, here capping a short drive with nussmeier, under heavy pressure manages to get the ball out and up to connor vaughn - he wins the jump ball and its an early 8-0 marauder lead...Lewisville falls behind 14-0 before they finish a good drive with green on the option play to damien martinez, that cuts the lead to 14-7...Marcus wastes no time with a response...Nussmeier looking over the middle and he doesn't need much of a window as he squeezes this one into dallas dudley, marcus making it look easy up 21-7.
In the 2nd quarter, more magic from nussmeier as he finds tyler schott in the back of the endzone, what a catch! Marcus with a 14 point lead...Lewisville not going away though, they put together a nice drive with green and isiah stevens on the fade - stevens a great one handed grab to cut the lead to 28-21! Stevens leading all receivers yesterday with 11 catches for 170 yards and 2 td's...After the intermission marcus would start to pull away, walker wells from 11 yards out and lewisville is on the ropes...Taylen green had a great day with 275 yards through the air and 3 touchdowns but backed up deep in his own territory this one gets away from him...Its picked off by zach oluh-meyer, he takes it back 31 yards to put the finishing touches on a 58-38 win over marcus, the marauders stay undefeated on the season and win the district championship in back to back seasons for the first time in school history!
