Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco served as the backdrop for one of the summer's premier junior golf events, drawing some of the top young players in the country — including a strong contingent from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
On the girls side, Hebron junior Delaney Anderson, committed to Austin Peay, and Coppell graduate Riya Bapna, headed to Boston College, both narrowly missed the cut. The clear standout was Southlake Carroll's Gia Ahlowalia, who not only made the cut but surged to the lead after posting a 5-under third round. She ultimately finished tied for 15th at 3 over par — a strong result against a national field.
The boys side featured a mix of near-misses and solid performances. Waxahachie junior Knox Barnard went 3 under on day two but fell just short of the cut, while Rishi Bapna — Riya's brother — also gained valuable experience in the field. Sachse senior Andrew Scott made the cut after shooting a 7-under second round, finishing 29th overall.
The top DFW finisher on the boys side was Plano junior Ryan Lee, an Auburn commit who was consistent throughout the tournament and closed with a tied-for-11th finish at 2 under par — the best result among all local competitors in the field.
