Boswell Forces Game 3 with 6-4 Win Over Southlake Carroll in Playoff Series
A best-of-three playoff series between two programs with championship pedigree came down to the wire as Boswell forced a decisive Game 3 with a 6-4 victory over Southlake Carroll at Carroll's home field.
The Pioneers wasted no time establishing control, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the early innings. Bryce Guyton stroked a hit back up the middle, and a fielding error allowed Moses Norris to score as the Boswell student section erupted. Peyton Rhodes extended the lead with a line drive to left field, putting the Pioneers up 4-0 after two innings.
Carroll cut into the deficit in the bottom of the third when AJ Bonnette raced home on a wild pitch, making it 4-2. But Boswell answered in the fourth inning to break the game open. Colton Coursey drove a double deep into left center field, scoring Braylin Caston and providing the insurance runs the Pioneers needed to close out the 6-4 victory.
