Freshman point guard Martinez found Will Saunders for a crucial layup in the closing moments as Highland Park held on for a 63-60 victory over The Colony. The Scots successfully defended their home court to maintain first place in the district standings.
Xavier Green finished with a game-high 27 points for The Colony, including back-to-back triples in the second half that created multiple lead changes. Bryce Dixon added 20 points with a powerful dunk before halftime. Highland Park's Alex Stockwood hit sharp shots in the second quarter to build a double-digit lead, but the Cougars' comeback made for a dramatic finish.
