Colorado assistant coach Danny Manning — the former Kansas Jayhawk great — was in attendance at the TABC Showcase, and the game he watched delivered plenty of reasons to take notice. North Crowley and Katy Seven Lakes put together a competitive showcase matchup that came down to a late three-point barrage.
The Panthers showed their offensive versatility throughout. Isaak Hayes used his handles to create off the dribble, spinning through contact for a tough and-one bucket. Kameron Price added a pull-up that found a trailing Davin Hicks for a deep three, while Kaelan Anderson finished in transition off the glass. Head Coach Tommy Brakel kept the sideline energy at regular-season intensity despite the showcase setting.
North Crowley held their own, but Seven Lakes guard Alex Teahen turned the game with a stretch of sharp shooting from beyond the arc. One of those triples gave Seven Lakes the lead for good, and the Falcons protected it down the stretch. The final score: Seven Lakes 71, North Crowley 64.
