Amarion Hunter scored 21 points as top-ranked Carter delivered a statement 76-58 victory over defending state champion Kennedale in the 4A Division 2 playoffs. The Cowboys took an 18-point lead into halftime and never let the Wildcats back in the game.
Carter was the aggressor from the opening tip, utilizing the athleticism of Kaiden Eason and Landen Higgs to build the early advantage. Eason dominated inside with an and-1 and a dunk, while Higgs used his speed to score off the dribble. Despite a three-pointer from Kennedale's AJ Brown, Carter controlled the contest and advances to the state semifinals to face Brock.
