Wimberley vs Sunnyvale Highlights | Girls Soccer State Title Game

The Sunnyvale Lady Raiders made history with their first-ever appearance in the girls soccer state title game, facing off against the Wimberley Lady Texans from the Austin area. Wimberley struck first in the opening half when Emma Durkin found the back of the net on a perfectly executed free kick. The Lady Texans extended their lead to 2-0 before Sunnyvale responded early in the second half. Macy Martin capitalized on a penalty kick to bring the Raiders within one goal. However, in the 68th minute, Wimberley sealed the victory when Dylan Watson set up Samantha Santana for a clutch goal over the goalie. Wimberley claimed the state championship with a 3-1 win, concluding a magical season for Sunnyvale.
