Grapevine Shocks Juggernaut Frisco Wakeland in 5A D2 State Semifinal

One loss in three years. That was Frisco Wakeland's record entering the 5A D2 state semifinal against Grapevine. Then sophomore Paola Granados buried a shot in the corner off a second-half turnover, and the Lady Mustangs held on for a stunning 1-0 upset.

Wakeland controlled possession early and Missouri commit Audrey Gilbert hit the crossbar with under six minutes left. But Grapevine's defense bent without breaking, punching their ticket to the state championship.
