Trenton Yancey Is More Than a Receiver for Duncanville | Purdue Commit

October 13, 2026
Duncanville's Trenton Yancey scored 18 TDs last season playing multiple positions. The Purdue commit is one of DFW's most versatile offensive weapons.

Eighteen touchdowns in a single season is a standout number for any skill player. What makes Trenton Yancey's production at Duncanville even more striking is where those scores came from—only 8 of his 18 touchdowns last season were caught from the wide receiver position.

Yancey's listed role on the roster barely scratches the surface of how Duncanville deploys him. The Panthers, one of the premier programs in Class 6A and a perennial playoff contender out of District 11-6A, use Yancey as a chess piece on offense. He can split out wide, take a handoff from the backfield, or line up under center—and in each alignment, his speed and shiftiness create problems for opposing defenses.

That kind of positional flexibility is rare, and it hasn't gone unnoticed at the college level. Yancey has committed to Purdue, where his ability to play multiple spots figures to be a major asset in the Boilermakers' offensive system.
