DeSoto Head Coach Claude Mathis pumped up for this one against Carroll, while the Dragons Head Coach, Riley Dodge, a little more subdued.
First quarter, after a DeSoto turnover, Carroll running back Riley Wormley breaks free for a 49 yard touchdown and the Dragons have the early 7-0 lead.
Later first, Eagles down 10-7 and Jaden Trawick rips off a 54 yard touchdown run as DeSoto ran for just under 450 yards on the day. 14-10 Eagles after 1.
2nd quarter, 4th and 1, D J Bailey picks up the 1 as he pushes the scrum....but then he decides he wants more and gets out of for a 24 yard diving touchdown. 21-13 DeSoto
Just before the half, Graham Knowles goes 37 yards to Clayton Wayland, Knowles threw for 309 yards and 2 scores. Dragons down 21-20 at the half.
3rd quarter, how about Tiger Riden of Desoto. 254 yards and 2 scores including this 18 yarder and the Eagles up 28-23.
But hold on, Southlake Carroll wasn't done. Davis Penn finds an opening and he's gone. 75 yards to the house as the 3rd quarter would go back and forth with big blow after big blow.
FInally in the 4th. Desoto up 35-31, Bailey throws the screen to T J Pride and the speedster takes off down the sidelines for a 50 yard back breaking score. DeSoto wins a thriller 45-38 and will head back to the state final to face Summer Creek out of Houston
