The Denton Ryan Lady Raiders successfully defended their state championship title with a 45-34 victory over Leander Glenn in the UIL Class 5A Division 1 final. Aiming for a repeat after last year's success, Denton Ryan relied on a stifling defense and offensive contributions from multiple players. Zaviyana Madison provided a spark with tough points in the paint and defensive steals, while Jamyla Anderson added 14 points, including a crucial corner three-pointer. SMU commit Kaylin Jackson also contributed to the offense. Although the Lady Raiders shot just 26 percent from the field, they attempted nearly twice as many shots as Leander Glenn, allowing them to maintain control and secure the back-to-back state championship.
