Candace Tsang poured in a game-high 27 points to lead The Village School past Plano Prestonwood 70-56 in the TAPPS state championship. The Houston program overcame an early deficit to claim the title against the defending champions.
Prestonwood started strong with impressive plays from Cara Collins and a deep three from Joanna Gossman. Gianna Hollins added a strong drive to build a nine-point Lions lead. However, The Village School answered with a dominant second-half surge behind Tsang's scoring to pull away and capture the championship.
