First place in District 5-6A was on the line as the Denton Guyer Wildcats hosted the Hebron Hawks on the softball diamond. Guyer wasted no time taking control, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning behind clutch hits from Annaleeia Martinez and Cali Parham. That early support was plenty for Notre Dame commit Finley Montgomery. The star pitcher was nearly unhittable, striking out 16 batters and allowing only one hit in a complete-game shutout. Montgomery also contributed at the plate with an RBI single in the sixth inning to seal the 5-0 victory, improving Guyer's record to 13-1.
