The Argyle Eagles made history by defeating Barbers Hill 51-42 in the UIL 5A Division II girls basketball state championship game. This victory marks Argyle's first 5A state title in any sport. The Eagles started strong, jumping out to a 13-1 lead in the first quarter thanks to sharp shooting from Wrigley Green. Championship MVP Emma King dominated the paint, finishing with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Green contributed 13 points, showcasing impressive ball-handling skills. With this win, Argyle becomes the second team from District 6-5A to capture a state title this year, bringing another trophy home to Denton County.
