Waxahachie's Jax Robinson Sets Record .542 Batting Average, Headed to Texas

June 11, 2026
Waxahachie's Jax Robinson set a program record with a .542 batting average, earned 11-6A Co-MVP honors, and will play at the University of Texas.

A .542 batting average is the kind of number that makes you double-check the stat sheet. For Waxahachie senior Jax Robinson, it's now a program record — the highest regular season batting average in school history.

Robinson earned District 11-6A Co-MVP honors alongside teammate Chase Pearrow after a dominant offensive season. He hit 11 home runs, drove in 61 runs, and struck out just seven times all year — a contact rate that speaks to his plate discipline as much as his raw power. Robinson also saw time in the closer role on the mound, adding another dimension to his value for the Waxahachie program.

Robinson will take his game to Austin, where he is set to play for the University of Texas Longhorns.
