Texas Lands Four DFW Blue-Chip Prospects from the 2027 Class

Three hours north of Austin, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has become one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country — and the University of Texas keeps coming back to cash in. The 2027 class out of DFW is shaping up to be one of the strongest in recent memory, and the Longhorns have already secured four of its top names.

North Forney wide receiver Briceson Thrower is the kind of big-bodied X receiver that offensive coordinators build red zone packages around. His length and physical tools give Texas a legitimate mismatch weapon as he develops at the college level.

South Oak Cliff offensive lineman Brian Swanson brings a punishing brand of run blocking to the table. His leg strength at the point of attack stands out, and his ability to reach the second level and engage linebackers makes him a prospect with immediate upside.

Mansfield Summit defensive end Cameron Hall announced himself to the state in 2025 with a ten-sack season. His first-step quickness and relentless motor are the kind of traits that translate early in a college program's defensive rotation.

Lakeview Centennial cornerback Monte Jackson rounds out the group. A physical presence on the outside with elite ball skills, Jackson has also shown enough versatility to contribute on the offensive side of the ball — a rare trait that gives Texas added flexibility in how they deploy him.

All four are regarded as top-100 prospects nationally. For a Texas program competing at the highest level of college football, continuing to own its own backyard is a cornerstone of sustained success.
