In a historic matchup for the 6A D2 state final, the Lancaster Lady Tigers faced off against the undefeated Austin Westlake Chaparrals. Despite losing to Westlake in double overtime earlier in the season, Coach LaJeana Howard's squad dominated this rematch. Lancaster controlled the game off the dribble, taking a 31-18 lead at halftime. Makenzie White led all scorers with 14 points, while teammates Ava Womack and Monique Phoenix contributed key plays to widen the gap. Lancaster handed Westlake their first loss of the season with a decisive 51-37 victory, securing the program's first-ever girls state title.
