A state championship, a national team gold medal, and a commitment to the University of Texas — and Sarah Floyd is still just a junior. The Highland Park volleyball standout put together one of the most decorated sophomore seasons in recent DFW history, anchoring a Scots squad that finished 42-8 and captured the UIL 5A Division I state title in 2025.
At 6-foot-3, Floyd controls the net with an attacking style that proved nearly impossible to contain at the 5A level. She was named UIL 5A Division MVP and earned a spot on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State First Team — the only sophomore on the list. Those individual honors came on top of a team title that established Highland Park as one of the premier programs in the state.
The recognition extended well beyond Texas. Floyd was selected to the 2026 U.S. Women's U19 National Team, where she helped the United States sweep Canada in the finals to claim the gold medal. PrepDig ranks her No. 8 nationally among her class, a reflection of a skill set that combines size, athleticism, and court instincts that are rare at any level.
Floyd has committed to the University of Texas, where she projects as an immediate contributor on the Forty Acres. Before she gets there, though, she returns to Highland Park with unfinished business — leading the Scots in pursuit of a second consecutive state championship in 2026. As the top volleyball prospect in the DFW area for the class of 2028, the expectations are high, and Floyd has done nothing but meet them.
