Southlake Carroll Jordan Sisters are Dominating on The Court

Former Dragon star, Robyn McCoart (McCourt), took over the head coaching at her alma mater in 2018 after Southlake Carroll had missed the post season the previous 2 years. Since then, it’s been a steady improvement with the Dragons currently ranked 19th in the 6A state rankings.

And the passion for winning took what could be compared to a B-12 shot since the influx of talent from one family….the Jordan family. At any given time during a Dragons game, you could find 4 Jordan sisters on the court. And these girls aren’t just playing…they’re dominating. Milania is the oldest….a junior who can score at will. Then there are the 2 sophomores, Natalia and Gianna, who are 11 months apart. Gianna is gifted in ball handling and knocking down 3’s, while Natalia is a swiss army knife with a high basketball IQ. Then there’s the freshman, Nadia, who is a suffocating defender. The 4 of them are hard to contain on the court due to a lifetime of playing together.

The Jordan dynasty will stop with Nadia, but Dragon fans shouldn’t fret. These girls will all be back playing again next year as well. Building a winning culture at Southlake that they hope can some day match that of the football team. And its the perception they lack respect on the Texas basketball scene that drives the girls harder. The Dragons got a taste of national talent at the Sandra Meadows Classic including Conway, Arkansas, who is a top 20 team in the nation. They took an 11 point loss, but the Jordan sisters went right to the film room to get better.

Southlake Carroll certainly is on the map now with the girls playing at such a high level. In the Region 1 playoffs, the Dragons can expect tough, close games with teams like South Grand Prairie and Hebron and others, But the question for these four siblings is….who takes the last shot with the game on the line.
