Richardson High Athletes Give Back For The Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving is always the perfect time to not only say thanks, but to show gratitude to people who can sometimes be overlooked. That’s what some of the Richardson High School Football players did the Friday before Fall Break at Arapaho Classical Magnet School. The Eagle players passed out Appreciation letters to parents dropping off their kids to let them know the sacrifices they make for their children do not go unnoticed.

A chance to not only interact with future Eagles, but to make sure their parents begin their day with a positive message meant the world to these athletes.

After their morning at the magnet school was complete, the football players rushed back to Richardson high school for the “second” best part of their day. The First Annual Richardson High School Coaches Pie Eating Contest took place at the indoor practice facility. The price to watch this event was simply a donated item for the Network Community Ministries. Hundreds of kids showed up, with donations, to watch their favorite coaches compete in a pie eating contest. Once the competition began it was easy to see who would come out on top as Tight End Coach Hayden Wall demolished the 9 other coaches to become championship.

With a box overflowing with donations, the event was an overwhelming success. The kind of “feel good” moment that sent everyone into the Thanksgiving break knowing they worked as a school to help give back to their community.
