Two of the top high school soccer teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area clashed in the first round of the playoffs as Frisco Liberty faced Highland Park. The match remained a defensive struggle through a scoreless first half, with Highland Park's Trey Shamburger hitting the post on a close attempt. The deadlock was finally broken with under 20 minutes remaining in the second half when Matthew Mincak redirected an Asher Ervin corner kick into the net. Despite a late attempt by Jake Rhine, Frisco Liberty held on to win 1-0 and advance in the playoffs.
