April 9, 2026
Discover how the Melissa Lady Cardinals softball team is chasing a Class 5A three-peat after breaking the national home run record.
The Melissa High School Lady Cardinals softball team is on a historic quest for an unprecedented three-peat in Class 5A. Under the guidance of head coach Cassie Crabtree, the team has adopted a highly successful swing-big philosophy. Last season, Melissa shattered the national record by hitting 122 home runs, led by Florida commit Kennedy Bradley, who set a DFW record with 24 homers. Beyond their explosive offense, the Lady Cardinals boast incredible defense and pitching. The team committed only nine errors all last season, while star pitcher and Arizona commit Eloisa Maes posted a remarkable 32-1 record with a 1.31 ERA. With a loaded roster featuring multiple Division 1 and SEC commits, Melissa faces a massive target on their backs. Despite the pressure and intense competition, the Lady Cardinals remain fiercely motivated to defend their crown and continue their dominance in Texas high school softball.
