Lutkenhaus holds indoor and outdoor 800m records at age 16

Cooper Lutkenhaus holds both indoor and outdoor high school records in the 800 meters while ranking sixth in the world at just 16 years old.

The Justin Northwest standout finished second at the USATF Outdoor National Championship with a near world-record time. Despite turning professional and signing a deal with Nike, Lutkenhaus continues training with his high school teammates and competing for Northwest.

His sights are set on the 2028 Olympics, where he hopes to represent the United States on the sport's biggest stage while still in his teenage years.
