Rockwall’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba could not be covered in the first half against Arlington Martin. He had 9 catches in the half and four touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Braedyn Locke hooked up with Smith-Njigba on touchdowns of 27, 67, 23 and 37 yards as the senior receiver got free against all kinds of coverages. For the night, Smith-Njigba had 11 catches for 201 yards and those 4 scores. Those efforts were more then enough to win his second GiveMeTheVin.Com M-V-P bobblehead.

Flower Mound was in a back and forth game with Lewisville, but when Pierce Hudgens scored with 12 seconds left it sealed the Jags victory, 34-30. That makes them our Geico Team of the Week
North Garland and quarterback Timothy Gauthier haven't been to the playoffs since 2009. At 4-0 they are hoping this is their year as they take on Rowlett First quarter, it's the Raiders defense that steps up as Isaiah Watkins comes up with the big pick giving North Garland the ball in the red zone where they would later score. Second quarter, Eagles offense gets on track. Colton Yarbrough runs it in from 5 yards out and that ties the game up at 7. Then Alex Routt (Route) with the perfect pass to Antonio Hull for the 36 yard score. Rowlett up 14-7 But on the ensuing kickoff, that's Trey Taylor.....that's an open field......and that's a 76 yard touchdown. Game was tied at 14 at the half, but a missed extra point in the second half would do the Raiders in as Rowlett wins it 27-26.
And there is Salter getting himself psyched up to take on the Waxahachie Indians. Waxahachie strikes first when Campbell Sullivan roles right and throws a dart to Brandon Hawkins who was all by himself in the endzone, that put the Indians up 10 zip on the Longhorns. Sullivan to the air again AND to Hawkins again, this time from five yards out, Hawkins with 15 grabs for a ""buck 86"" and 3 touchdowns. But Cedar Hill finally gets it going, here Salter hands to Corie Allen and he bust threw the line and he's gone, 48 yard house call, Allen with 180 yards and 2 scores on the night. More Longhorn run game, here Salter gives to Kevin Young and he powers his way in from 6 yards out. And after the slow start, Cedar Hill gets the win over Waxahachie 63-34.
Rockwall on the road to start district play against defending 6A champ, Longview. Lobos came out physical. Braden Locke to Jaxon Smith-Njigba....incomplete but he got his bell rung and stayed down for a few minutes before being helped off. 4th down for the Lobos and Texas A&M recruit, Hanes King takes it 30 yards for the score to put Longview up 7-0. Smith-Njigba took some more pops later on. Here he catches the pass and fumbles. Longview takes it to the red zone where they would later score. Only 1 catch for 4 yards for Smith-Njigba. Second quarter, King on the keeper pushes his way into the end zone. Longview crushes Rockwall 49-3 as King rushes for 5 scores.
Sunnyvale is ranked #2 in the DFW area in Class 4A ... taking on a tough 3A team in Dallas Madison. Both teams 4-0. Sunnyvale trailed by 1 at halftime but took the lead in the 3rd quarter with their defense on the field. Madison's fourth-down pass was picked off by Noah McDill, and he's off to the races. He goes 79 yards for the touchdown, and that was his 2nd interception of the night. Madison came right back and scored on a 19-yard touchdown run by Jayleen Record. He rushed for 174 yards on only 13 carries, and Madison was back on top, 21-20. Sunnyvale took control of this game with their rushing attack. The Raiders ran for 343 yards and pulled away with three rushing touchdowns in the 4th quarter alone, from Alex Luna, Max McAda, and this 42-yarder by Obi Arinze. Sunnyvale pulls away to win 42-21.
Flower Mound Head Coach Brian Brasil and his Jaguars took on Lewisville who played with heavy hearts after a JV player passed away earlier this week. Pick this one up with 4:26 left and Jags down 3. Blake Short throws it up to Reid Touchstone who comes down with a Touchdown. Flower Mound up 27-23. Farmers answer back. First Taylen Green rolls away from the rush and heaves it to a wide open Gabe Ellis for 62 yards. Very next play, Green keeps it himself for the 13 yard score. Lewisville leads 30-27 with 3:01 to play However, Jags drive to the 2 yard line and Pierce Hudgens in the Wildcat scores with 12 seconds left to win it for Flower Mound 34-30.
