It was a historic weekend for Dallas-Fort Worth high school boys basketball as nine local teams traveled to San Antonio and returned with state championship titles. The Dallas Independent School District had a banner day, with Carter securing its first-ever state title, while Kimball and Madison also claimed dominant victories. A special highlight included brothers Nicke and Gerald Smith coaching Kimball and Madison to respective championships. Other notable performances included Mansfield Summit repeating as 5A Division 2 champions behind freshman Joseph Creal's impressive shooting. Frisco Heritage made history by winning its first state title, led by Duke commit Bryson Howard's massive double-double. In the 6A division, North Crowley captured its first championship in 18 years, and Little Elm dominated Austin Westlake with stifling defense to win in their first state appearance. This incredible showcase of DFW basketball talent will be remembered for years to come.
