Desoto vs Summer Creek - 2023 Week 18 Football Game of the Week

Summer Creek from the Houston area was making their first trip to state and Desoto made sure it wasn’t a pleasant one There was no reason to worry about Desoto’s head space in this one, as the Eagles would show the state who the most dominant team in Texas was early and often. Marvin Duffey didn’t let a minute go off the clock before he had put the Eagles on the board with this 55 yard touchdown run. 2 plays later, the defense made a play as Keylan Abrams picked off this tipped pass which led to another Desoto touchdown. 15-0 less then 2 minutes into the game. Before the first quarter would end, D J Bailey decided he need to have some fun too. First he connects with Daylon Singleton for a 26 yard touchdown. Then he found the SMU commit again on a 55 yard score as the Eagles put up 36 points in the first quarter alone. The rout was on as Desoto led 46-7 at the half. Second half, Bailey, who finished with 286 yards and 4 touchdowns, would hit up the freshman, Boobie Feaster, on a 26 yard pitch and catch. Desoto would put up the most points in the history of 6A title games and won this game going away, 74-14.
