4-A's #1 team, Argyle, visiting rival, Celina Friday night. First offensive possession and there goes C J Rogers on the quarterback scramble. That's a 40 yard touchdown run and a 7-0 Eagle lead. Next possession, Rogers goes to the air hitting Hayden Stewart in stride for a 23 yard touchdown pass. Argyle would score on 3 of their first 4 possessions and would lead 21-0. But then the Eagles let off the gas and here come the Bobcats. Trae Hollins up the middle for 5 yards and a touchdown....21-7 Celina gets the ball back. Reagan Davenport with the play action and hits D J Dellano for the 25 yard yard score and suddenly it's a one score game. But play of the game was late 2nd quarter, Celina trying to get to halftime down a score, but their punt out of their end zone is blocked by Hunter Roberts and recovered at the 1. And with seconds to go in the half, Rogers fakes the pass and runs it in to give Argyle a 28-14 halftime lead.
Third quarter, Rogers feels the heat....rolls out and look who's wide open in the end zone....that's Braden Baker. Argyle wins it 35-21 setting up a huge matchup with #2 Waco La Vega next week.
