Wide Receiver Bryant Wesco Flourishes Despite Playing in a Flexbone Offense

MIdlothian’s Bryant Wesco is considered a top 5 wide receiver in the country. With his ability to create space and his long strides, Wesco is a big play waiting to happen. But in the Panthers offense, most nights that’s exactly what Bryant has to do... wait

The Flexbone is an unbalanced offense that specializes in a misdirection ground attack. A system that Head Coach Doug Wendel (Win-dell) has been very successful running. However, it’s not very conducive for a big time receiver. But Wesco is one of the more unselfish athletes you’ll see in North Texas, so all that matters to him is that Midlothian winning games

And Wesco certainly made the big plays last year. 58 catches for over 11 hundred yards and 17 touchdowns. This from a kid who spent much of his underclassman years wondering if he was even good and it took his receiving (or go with personal) trainer to open his eyes to his talent

Many more offers came after that until Wesco finally committed to Clemson in hopes of returning the Tigers into “Wide Receiver U”. But if truth be told, it may not have been Dabo Swinney who swayed Bryant into don-ing the orange and blue. It just may have been Clemson’s quality of ice cream????
