Title Belt Winner - Stephenville Yellowjackets Defense

In 4A Division 1, Stephenville was looking for their 6th state championship against Austin LBJ…

The Yellowjackets get off to a good start as Ryder Lambert, looking for his favorite target Coy Eakin (Aiken) makes it look so easy, a great one handed grab for a 7-0 lead…

After the defense forces a turnover and a short field, Aiken takes the handoff to extend the Yellowjacket lead to 14-0 - he wasn’t done yet.

Later he goes to work over the middle, the pass from Lambert is on the money and he does the rest bouncing off defenders and racing to the end zone, Yellowjackets up 24-7 at the break.

In the 2nd half he would find another way to impact the game as Lambert looking for the deep ball is picked off, but Aiken with a good hustling play punches it out of there and 88 is in the right place at the right time for the recovery, everything going the Yellowjackets way, its 31-7.

LBJ trying to play catchup and looking for a big play but Aiken is back deep to snuff it out. The Yellowjackets forcing 5 turnovers to earn this week’s title belt on the way to a 38-21 win over LBJ, for head coach Sterling Doty, it was especially sweet to get the Yelllowjackets back on top of the mountain.
