Title Belt Winner - Richardson Boys Basketball
The championship game of the Whataburger Tournament was a beauty as #1 Duncanville took on #2 Richardson in an epic showdown.
Richardson shows out early when Cason Wallce throws the oop to his backcourt mate Rylan Griffin, great play.
The Panthers have a few scorers of their own, here Ron Holland drives right down the and scoops home the bucket off the glass.
Then Wallace showing us why he's going to Kentucky, weaves through traffic and then flushes home the 2-handed jam, sweet play.
Panthers answer that when Cameron Barnes goes baseline and then gets the reverse dunk, great athletic move right there as this is a 1 point Duncanville lead at half.
As the 4th quarter got underway a little drama as Duncanville head coach David Peavy, looking for a little punch off the bench inserts Anthony Black. The 5 star guard was cleared by the UIL literally moments earlier…
Black wasting no time getting into the game, here he connects with Holland on the fast break ally oop dunk, Holland finished with 19.
Now, under a minute left in the 4th, Wallace drives and hits the one hand jumper, but the Panthers come right back with Holland as he misses his first shot but stays with it and gets the put back to send this game into overtime, why not.
More Wallace in OT, somehow he scoops this shot home underneath the defenders arm, Wallace a great game leading all scorers with 23.
One last chance for Duncanville now, Ashton Hardaway misses the 3, Black gets the board but CAN'T hit the put back and Richardson hangs on for the dramatic 60-58 win over Duncanville to take the Whataburger championship, a great game between these 2 schools.
And for holding Duncanville to their lowest point total of the season, Richardson gets this week's title belt.
